HOW DOES IT WORK?

Firstly, you must meet our eligibility criteria to claim this special offer:

• Be aged 19 or over

• To have lived in the EU for at least the last 3 years

• To live within a London Borough

• To have not previously completed this, or any similar courses, with Spotlight Multimedia (previous learners should contact us to check eligibility)

 

I'm eligible, what else? 

This 'BTEC Level 1 Certificate in Creative Media Production' is delivered entirely remotely, so you'll need some basic equipment at home. This consists of: 

• A camera (phone camera is fine)

• A computer with internet access and ability to run editing software (free online editing software used)

• Microsoft Word (free alternatives available to download and install)

• Zoom (screen sharing and video calling software, free to download and install)

• Google Chrome (free to download and install)

You will also need to have a very basic level of computer literacy i.e. the ability to independently download and install software packages from the internet.

how does the course work?

We send you a learner pack that consists of video tutorials and a digital workbook. You complete the workbook in your own time and shoot your film, using the techniques explained in the tutorials. When you are ready to edit the film, contact your tutor. They will schedule a 1-1 remote editing tutorial (via Zoom). 

 

What Will I Learn?

You will learn how to shoot and edit your own 2-minute movie about anything you'd like! You'll discover how to compose shots professionally, how to sequence a video, how to properly plan for a shoot and how to edit your shots into a finished video sequence - adding music, voiceovers and sound effects.

When will I receive my gift card and btec certificate?

Once you have completed all work, send this back to us for marking and feedback (this usually takes around 7 days). If there are any corrections to be made in order to achieve the qualification aims, these will be communicated to you by your tutor. You can then re-submit your work after corrections have been made. Once your tutor has confirmed achievement of all qualification aims, we'll send the gift card to the email address you have provided. Certificates take a few months to be processed, we'll contact you when these have been sent to us by BTEC.
